Jack Holding the Clear Sphere, which is 3' in Diameter.
The Hubs, Center Rings, and Struts made from Clear PVC Pipe.
Note:This is the "very first" clear Geodesic Sphere we have ever seen using this hub design.
Jack manufactured all of the clear PVC Hubs, Struts and Center Rings for this Geodesic Sphere.
We are glad to offer a limited license for artists to manufacture and use this geodesic hub design.

Here is what Jack said about the process:
"Great to hear we we were able to do a "1st time this has been done" thing. Definitely interesting.
The hubs were especially challenging.
We couldn't use a permanent marker anywhere that was not being drilled and most other markers didn't work very well on the clear plastic.
It's also a harder material than the white pvc. Real happy the way it turned out though.
Also had to be careful about scratching."
The Outer Sphere is 8' in diameter, and placed on a stand
The 3' Clear Sphere inside the 8' Outer Sphere
The outer 8ft sphere we cleaned the lettering off of the white PVC with Acetone and used the Heavy duty white cable ties. It was built it in - 100 + degrees temps, while living in tents. Quite an experience.
It's hard to see in the photos but many of the triangle had crystals hung on wires to create both day and night lighting effects.
LED lights and gossamer threads adds to the floating effect.
Great Artwork!
Short "ORBS" video, with the light changing colors.
The Car base is a 94 Toyota Previa Van. We spent the day with two sawzalls taking it down to the point you see in the photo's.
The 11ft. sphere just fit without the platform sticking out too far.
We welded a 1 1/2 in Diameter steel pole to the base to keep the sphere rigid in high desert winds.

Note from Jack:"John Hurt at Zip Tie Domes was great to work with and helped every step of the way. Even when my questions were simple or repetitive, John responded quickly and thoroughly. - Couldn't have done it with out him."
