Hi - I bought my 13' Chicken dome from you a while back. It's been working out - no predator losses while they're in the dome. One of my laying flocks lives inside the dome full-time. We're on the Central Coast of California. Mild enough weather that they seem to be thriving this way, and way less work than a typical coop. I put an extra tarp over it during winter time, to keep the warmth in and driving rain out. They have madrone branches hanging from the roof on chains for their perches, and cat litter boxes for nest boxes. I now have the dome inside the horse pasture. I let them free range with the horses during the day - they do double duty this way, help break down manure and eat fly larvae. As long as they stay near the herd of horses, the bobcat stays away.
I'm planning on placing an order for another dome to set up my 2nd flock inside another pasture. I'm also considering using a 3rd smaller dome for a parakeet aviary in our backyard. Do you know if any of your customers have done anything like that? I'm trying to think of what type of covering would be best. And how to create a sheltered area, perhaps near the top of the dome.
Here are two pictures of our first dome.
Thank you for the ingenious product!
