Hello,
I'm helping a friend build a 2v dome cover for her 16' above ground pool. She ordered your hubs only kit, standard 4" hubs. We have measured the pool and we need to be very close to the advertised 16'. We're a little confused when using the 2v calculator selecting the 4" hubs and then comparing the strut lengths to what is in the manual. Which lengths will give us the desired 16'?
Thanks.
Gary
Calculator: Blue - 4'9" Red - 4'2-1/8" (with 4" hubs selected.)
16' Dome Manual: Blue - 5' Red - 4'5"
Gary,
We use the 5' lengths for the Blue struts, as our material arrives in either 10' or 20' lengths, and we don't want to have any waste left over. So the customer gets a dome 9" larger than 16' wide, and with no complaints so far.
But yes, your 4' 9" and 4' 2-1/8" measurements are correct for a 16' diameter dome.

John,
Thanks for the sanity check on our measurements. Normally, I agree, bigger is better! In this case we need to be on the money.
Building a geo-dome is on my bucket list, so now I'll be able to mark it complete.
Thanks, and awesome hat!
Gary
