Use the Standard Connector if you only need one layer of greenhouse plastic or other covering on the outside of the dome.

The covering can be attached to the bottom struts of the dome using metal clips, and to the Connectors on the first tier using plastic 4" test caps and carriage bolts. (See the Video below.)

One layer of greenhouse plastic on the outside of the dome does not require that the covering be attached to every Connector, but only to the first tier Connectors and the ground struts.

The Standard Connector is the correct choice for a movable chicken coop, as the chicken wire is not attached to the Connectors, but directly to the struts using zip ties.

Use the Dual Covering Connector for attaching the greenhouse covering to both the inside and outside of the dome.

Two layers of Greenhouse Plastic creates a tremendous thermal barrier to the outside cold air.

The Dual Covering Connector requires a manual process to correctly attach the rings to the edges of the Connector, which makes it more expensive than the Standard Connector.

This is the only Geodesic Dome Connector, known to us, that can hold a covering to the inside and outside of a Geodesic Dome.

This Connector has applications for low cost shelters, and for military use. For example, you can attach a camo tarp to the outside of the dome, and an insulative space blanket material to the inside of the dome which eliminates the heat signature. The round shape of the dome appears more organic and less noticeable to radar or human sight than a square tent structure.
